Hey gorgeous you!
Creative energy really ebbs and flows doesn’t it?! A couple of weeks ago, I announced that I had started writing a book and by the end of that week about 8,000 words had flowed out of me.
I was writing something that had only just fully landed in my brain and it was just so EASY.
And really, who knows why!
Maybe it was the sunny weather that week.
Maybe it was just something that needed to be written.
Maybe it was a week devoid of other brain work, other than my regular clients and group there wasn’t anything booked in.
Maybe all or none of this!
However, this week, nothing has flowed, maybe since last Friday in truth.
It’s been a heavy time emotionally, lots of big feeling stuff within the family at the moment mainly around my teen and his upcoming exams, and perhaps this has contributed to the stuck feeling.
That and getting sidetracked helping my husband out with his business which has actually been fun (I have done a lot of creative copywriting around the great outdoors for him) but has left less hours in the day and juice in the battery.
Either way, I needed to get back on track and I needed support, a SIGN.
So I turned to something I do, I pulled cards from several oracle sets that I own and I tried to come up with a common message and perhaps some ways of creatively working through the stuck feeling and back into the light.
And it occurred to me as I was creating a framework for me to get back into flow that you might like it too. So here are the cards I pulled, the meaning I have got from them and also a prompt I made from each, something to ponder, journal or create from.
I hope it’s useful to anyone reading this who is feeling like they need a little shot of something today!
Queen of Cups – Modern Witch Tarot
I love this deck so much! I often just sit and shuffle them and look at the beautiful illustrations!
So what I got from here, is a reminder that softness is strength (this feels SO resonant at the moment after reading
’s amazing poem ‘a year of no grudges’ last night - go read it!)There is also something in this card about using my intuition around my creativity to take me down the right path, which chimes so well with one of the other cards, that overall I felt this was the overall message.
Prompt: What pathway has arrived or is being revealed without any pushing?
Positivity – Contemplation Cards
These cards are great as they offer just one word, totally up to your interpretation, but to act as a thought prompt for the day.
Positivity to me isn’t about pretending everything is fine, it’s about looking at my life and my creative work and asking: what’s already good here? Where are things already quietly working? It’s about tuning into the good as a way of dampening down the feelings of lack, comparison, longing etc.
Prompt: What’s working right now in my creative life that I want to celebrate?
Trust Your Path – Work Your Light
Ah Rebecca Campbell. Work Your Light is such a beautiful deck and this card I pulled also has a clear message about direction.
This card says to me, you’re on the right path. Even if it’s taking time. You don’t need another strategy or a new idea. You need to trust your inner compass. Just keep taking small steps with no attachment to outcome.
YES! I did a little air punch when I drew this card!
Prompt: If I knew I was fully supported, what would I move forward with this week?
“When I am patient, I let the universe do for me what I cannot do for myself.” – Super Attractor
Again, this makes me feel so good! I needed that reminder that often things are working out for me even when I am not the one driving it. Stuff is happening. I just need to allow the magic unfold - maybe as I embrace some rest and some space for my intuition to fire up again and guide me.
Prompt: Where am I ready to let go of control and allow flow?
Reversed Otter & Cattail – Woodland Wardens Deck
This is a call to remember that stuckness is temporary. All I need to do to get back into flow is to stop struggling. Like the otter, maybe I need to just lie on my back and coast for a while. Glide where the current takes me. When I write this I am reminded of the book title ‘End the Struggle and Dance with Life’ which has always chimed so strongly with me. It’s the secret to life, the universe and everything isn’t it?!
Prompt: What feeling or belief do I need to let go of to simply coast and glide?
I hope you enjoyed these ideas and prompts and if you are in stuckness with me right now that there is something here to pop you back up into the creative flow of things.
With love,
Sarah x

I was on a roll until Friday then everything went backside up. The full moon and some very personal stuff hit simultaneously, alongside my husband and kids all being elsewhere. Some of those cards really resonate, thank you
I love the rebecca Campbell cards and Gabby Bernstein’s too!
