Hello you!
I know it’s still technically winter in the northern hemisphere, but I am wondering if you feel it too? A bit of sap rising? An energy boost of sorts? Some golden glimmers of what you might like to happen this year?
Not gonna lie, I am still in bed early most nights with a good book and I am still eating a LOT of soup and having much need of blankets and scarfs.
But there is definitely something happening, a shift and I have finally started my 2025 goal planning, giving thought and time to what I want to happen this year.
Yeah, I said it. GOALS.
How do you feel when I say goals?
Tingly? Anxious? Flat? Switched off? Tell me in the comments, I want to know!
For many creative people I work with, goal setting can feel exciting but also feels constraining, maybe even overwhelming or a bit baffling - even though we do want to achieve things in our creative work and to move forwards and grow, we do often resist setting goals.
Maybe there is a fear of setting wrong goals, doing it wrong, worry that even in setting goals we won’t get what we want - but how do we know unless we try?
And goal setting is a funny thing anyway isn’t it?
The truth is, not many of us got any goal setting tips as part of our education, especially not those choosing a creative path.
We know we need to have goals in order to create momentum and success but we aren’t always sure about what the detail of that is.
Add in the fact that a lot of goal setting info out there is very pushy and masculine energy. It’s no wonder us fabulous creatives are turned off.
But another truth is that people who set the right goals for themselves and their work tend to achieve more in life. Having written goals and a structure approach to achieving them is much more likely to get you what and where you want.
And what if I could show you that goal-setting can be intuitive, inspiring, easeful and deeply aligned with who you are and what you want?
Not forced. Not overwhelming. Not based on society’s version of success. Not full of hustle and six figure businesses and ‘work hard play hard’ energy. No alphas.
